Overweight girls living in a culture that is not kind to ‘fat’ are under a lot of pressure, especially when marriage is just around the corner. This learning experience for me has been one via formal and informal education. Trial and error on the dinner plate and at the gym, and many years of self-research, has ultimately led to the right way of eating and exercise practices and habits.
I have a Diploma in Fitness and Nutrition from the International School of Correspondence, U.S.A. (1999) and a Masters in English from the Punjab University. I attended schools in London, BISJ, Jeddah and LGS, where following a goal was stressed upon. Writing articles on health and nutrition many years ago for Women’s Own and their sister publication Health and Fitness, has always been a passion for me. After many articles, I feel that I have more to say and offer than could be said within an article’s limited word count of 800, thus this book.
Mine is a journey of hope and hard work, and I wish to share what I’ve learned along the way with my fellow Pakistani females
